2012 Nissan Sunny
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. unveiled an all-new sedan model at the 8th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition. Using the famed 'Sunny' name in China, this new model will go on sale first in China in January 2011 and then progressively across 170 countries worldwide under different vehicle brand names.

The Nissan Sunny was first introduced in China in 2003 and was significant as the first locally built model from the new Dongfeng Nissan partnership. Acclaimed by consumers for its combination of quality, space and driving performance, the Nissan Sunny quickly help establish a foundation for the Nissan brand in the passenger vehicle market in China.

A projected class leader in fuel economy, the all-new Nissan Sunny is expected to appeal to young families in their 30s looking for a medium sized sedan that combines a dynamic upscale design with the space, quality and features associated with the Sunny and Nissan brand.

2011 Holden VE II Commodore SSV pics

2011 Holden VE II Commodore SSV
Holden has much reason to celebrate the Commodore's 30-year milestone. Since launching as the VB Commodore on 25 October 1978 and replacing the venerable Kingswood, the humble Opel-derived sedan gradually won over the hearts and wallets of Australia's motoring public, and has scored the distinction of being Australia's top-selling passenger car for the past 12 years running.

With over 2.5 million Commodores being produced since production began, the Commodore's status as an Aussie institution is undisputable. It's also become a bit of a money-spinner for GMH too, with Chevy and Pontiac-badged Commodores being exported to the Middle East, England and the United States, confirming that the Australian-built and Australian-designed sedan is quite literally a world class vehicle.

Anyway, it wouldn't be a birthday party without a drunk aunty making embarrassing references to the birthday boy's youth, so in that spirit check out the following advertisement showing the original VB Commodore slaloming around its own name on the Westgate bridge:

2012 BMW 1-Series Convertible
The 2012 BMW 135i features BMW's newest, 3.0-liter inline-6 engine. Equipped with a single, twin-scroll turbocharger and BMW's revolutionary Valvetronic throttle-less intake technology, the engine produces 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. Refered to internally as the "N55", the engine reaches peak torque at 1,200 rpm and maintains peak torque all the way to 5,000 rpm. With High Precision direct gasoline injectors, optimum performance and fuel efficiency are achieved with even faster engine response across the entire engine speed range. For the 135i Convertible, acceleration from 0-60 mph is accomplished with the standard 6-speed manual transmission in 5.4 seconds.

The 135i can be equipped with BMW's 7-speed Double Clutch Transmission (DCT), as featured on the BMW Z4 Roadster. Equipped with DCT, the 135i Convertible will accomplish the 0-60 mph sprint in a scorching 5.3 seconds. A 6-speed Steptronic automatic remains o ptional on the 128i. So equipped, the 128i Convertible runs 0-60 mph in 7.0 seconds, or 6.4 seconds with the standard 6-speed manual transmission.

Innovative Aerodynamics: Air Curtains

Consistency between form and function is crucial to engineers at BMW who seek perfect balance of various aerodynamic factors in the wind tunnel. As a result, the new Air Curtain is BMW's latest aerodynamic innovation. Introduced first on the BMW 1-Series M Coupe, the Air Curtain will now be a standard feature on the 128i Convertible. The Air Curtain improves air flow around the front wheel arches with the benefit of significantly reduced turbulence. The 128i Convertible can also be equipped with special Aero Wheels to further enhance the performance of the Air Curtain system.

This innovative feature consists of openings in the outer section of the lower front fascia that route high-pressure air through ducts at each front corner. The ducts are approximately 10 x 3 centimeters wide and are designed to channel air to openings at the front of each wheel arch, where it is discharged through a very narrow opening at high speed. The escaping air stream covers the side of the front wheels like a curtain, thereby reducing aerodynamically unfavorable turbulence around the rotating wheels.

Air Curtain has a key role to play in the development of future aerodynamic innovations. An example of the air curtain principle was first presented in the concept study BMW Vision EfficientDynamics at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt in 2009, and the developers of the BMW 1-Series M Coupe took on the pioneering task of applying this element to a production vehicle. To do so, they utilized the unique capabilities of the new full-scale "rolling road" Aerolab wind tunnel at the BMW Group's new Aerodynamic Testing Center. Now it has been added to the 128i Convertible.

A STYLISH BREAK WITH THE PAST The style of the vehicle highlights the interior space and the driving ergonomics. With its sweeping styling lines at the front, large glazed area, low doors (for the passenger compartment ventilation system) and very clear wheel arch space. The car also represents a break with the past through its exterior styling in relation to the automobiles we have seen to date. Robust and protective, the quality and technology shine through in every detail, such as the "full LED" front headlights and rear view cameras. The double bubble roof, as in the Peugeot RCZ, helps with the rear space of the vehicle. USER-FRIENDLY CONNECTIVITY As well as the openness and brightness brought by the large windows, the Peugeot BB1 Concept presents an extensive set of interactive technologies. The colour display and the vehicle's audio system provide an ideal setting for your "smartphone" functionalities: telephone, navigation, Internet access, radio, MP3... Just connect your device to the USB jack, or the 12V socket if necessary. Universal and user-friendly, this system enables the Peugeot BB1 Concept to concentrate on essential services without multiple pieces of equipment, bringing extra safety to driving and saving considerable weight. Similarly, the rear-view cameras remove the need for mirrors, optimising the width of the vehicle and improving its aerodynamics, while adding to the high-tech aspect of the interior. Two original creative images have been produced for the Peugeot BB1 Concept by the artist Michel Serviteur. Portrayed around the driving position, they offer a new link with time and speed. A clock brings the interior to life by linking a colour to each period of the day; time goes by to the rhythm of the light to enhance the feeling of wellbeing. In addition, there is a graphic animation which could replace the speedometer, finding its equilibrium at a steady speed but which moves again when that speed is interrupted.
